Have you ever sent an email using an email service, and it showed up in a spam folder or had a notification on it that it was “spoofing”? No need to panic, this can happen to anyone no matter how clean your contact list.
Servers for email programs like Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, Outlook, etc. are designed to look for emails that say they are sent from one source (you@yourdomain.com), but are actually being sent from somewhere else. The idea is to prevent someone from masquerading as you and sending spammy emails, which is something you definitely want prevented! Sometimes though, servers can’t tell that you are actually wanting emails to be sent out (i.e. from your eMerge account), and so they will unwittingly think your listing email or newsletter is spoofed.
This can be frustrating for folks just trying to market themselves, so we are going to give you the tools you need to prevent this from happening to you.
