Auto-responders have to be triggered by something & the trigger you choose during setup will be important because that will be the determining action that causes your auto-responder to be sent.
Setting up auto-responder triggers based on Date Fields:
1. Auto-responders are “triggered” by certain criteria (see below) so you have to know what that trigger is. Examples include a date field (birthday, anniversary, move-in date, etc.), a sign-up, clicking on a link or opening an email (set up using the Advanced Link Options).
2. You can set up custom date fields with the "Fields" link under the "Contacts" tab. This is where you will see fields that were added during contact importing, added through a form, or added manually.
3. Once you have selected the date field you want to trigger the auto-responder, you can choose for the email to be sent immediately when that date is reached, or choose a certain number of days before/after the date for the email to be sent.
